Fix A Stuck Zippo Flint

Zippo lighters are indeed a good buy. Seldom would you find serious glitches or defects in this product. And in cases when you do experience major defects, you don’t have to worry because these lighters have a lifetime warranty. This product has simple components which are famously reliable, and have been used since the start of the 20th century. But still, in spite of its amazing qualities, it has its little share of inconveniences. One of which is stuck flints.

Usually, you can just open the flint tube and turn it straight up to remove the stuck flint. In cases when the flint is wedged further down the wheel than usual, try shaking the wheel back and forth rapidly for a couple of times and find out if it will unfasten, or you can also thump it repeatedly on a surface until it falls out.

In many instances though, you can just resort to removing the reservoir and the screw securing the flints and drop the flints into a container or on a table. Just the same, if it does not come out easily, shake it back and forth a couple of times until it unloads. This is the most common, probably the only scenario, in which a flint gets jammed in a Zippo lighter.

If the flint gets stuck in the tube, you can remove it using a hair pin, a paper clip, or a sturdy object that would fit into the tube and nudge it repeatedly until the flint comes out.

Problems or annoyances with Zippo lighters are generally very rare and far between. You can usually just take care of the problem yourself. However, if you think that the problem with your Zippo is too complicated for you to handle, then by all means take it to a dealer or the manufacturer. They always have the tools needed to resolve the problem.
